Council Proposes Total Renovation of Old School Building

City Council proposes total renovate of old school buildings in Jakarta. to Jakarta Provincial Government.

We must thought that it is better to spend much money to fulfill a long-term educational facilities than spend the budget but repair benefit is not felt by citizen

City Council Commission E Vice, Ramly Muhammad, said that referring to council members field observation some time ago, there are 24 elementary school buildings in five regions that must to be renovated totally.

"Those dozens of school buildings are unfit to be repaired anymore because it is too old and several times have been piled up which makes it look short," he said, Monday (2/13).

Education Dept. will Renovate 24 Schools Next Year

He added that the numbers of classroom is inadequate to accommodate students in new school year. He suggested to rebuilt it with three or four floors to add classroom so they can accommodate more students.

"We think that it is better to spend much money to fulfill a long-term educational facilities than spend the budget but the repair benefit is not felt by citizen," he closed.
